Using Egg Tracker

A practical guide to recording daily poultry egg production without double-counting eggs.

Getting started

Egg Tracker begins with one tracker called Chicken Eggs. A tracker represents any source whose production you want to record: a species, flock, coop, breed, or named bird.

  1. Open Tally.
  2. Use the plus button beside a tracker for each egg.
  3. Use minus if you added one by mistake.
  4. Select Add eggs today to save the tray.

You can repeat this throughout the day. Egg Tracker adds every save to one daily total rather than creating separate collection records.

Tallying eggs

The tray shows eggs that have been entered but not yet saved. It remains on your device if you close the app.

If midnight passes while eggs are still in the tray, Egg Tracker asks whether to record them on their original date or discard them. It never silently moves them to another day.

Today’s total shows saved eggs only. Eggs still in the tray are added after you select Add eggs today.

Trackers and double-counting

Pro allows multiple trackers, which can be reordered from Tally > Manage. Choose a type, give it a useful name, and select an egg colour.

Add to overall egg total

This setting is on by default. Turn it off when the same physical egg is already counted elsewhere. For example, if Mabel’s egg is also included in the Chicken Eggs flock total, keep Mabel separate. Her production remains visible without adding another egg to the overall total.

Archiving removes a tracker from daily tallying while keeping its history. It can be restored later.

History and corrections

History groups saved totals by day. Open a day to see each tracker, edit its totals, or delete the entire day.

  • Use Add an earlier day for a missed record.
  • Enter zero to record a deliberate zero-egg day.
  • Clear a value to remove that tracker from the selected date.
  • Deleting a day is permanent inside the app. A previously exported Egg Tracker CSV can restore it.

Reports

Free includes a recent 14-day production graph. Pro adds daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports, individual tracker views, tracker comparisons, and bar or line graphs.

Trackers marked Kept separate are excluded from the combined report but can still be viewed individually. Comparison graphs use both different colours and different marker shapes.

Pro reports can be exported as CSV or as a printable PDF using your device’s save or share panel.

Move or restore data

With Pro, open More > Move or restore data. Export creates an Egg Tracker CSV containing active and archived trackers and all saved daily totals.

To restore or move records, choose an Egg Tracker CSV and review the summary before importing. New records are added. A matching tracker and date is replaced by the imported value. Other records, preferences, and eggs currently in trays remain unchanged.

CSV files are readable outside Egg Tracker and may contain your complete production history. Store them somewhere private and under your control.

Free and Pro

Free provides one tracker, daily history, a basic production graph, preferences, and the complete Flock Runner game. Pro adds unlimited trackers, complete reports, comparisons, CSV and PDF reports, and data transfer.

If Pro ends, nothing is deleted. Existing trackers and history remain visible, and you choose one tracker that can continue accepting new tallies. Apple and Google purchases are platform-specific.

Flock Runner

Flock Runner is a free offline game under More. Your hen runs automatically. Jump over solid obstacles, avoid animals, hold to duck under hawks, and collect food to reach the nest. Scores are stored separately from egg-production records.
